The Nationals and RHP Tyler Clippard avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract.
The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. Clippard, a Super Two qualifier, registered a fantastic 1.83 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 104/26 K/BB ratio in 88 1/3 innings last year. He’s quickly developed into one of the best setup men in baseball.
