Red Sox sent RHP Pedro Beato outright to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Beato was designated for assignment Wednesday but has cleared waivers and will remain in the organization. The 26-year-old posted a 3.33 ERA in 28 appearances at the Triple-A level in 2012.

Red Sox designated RHP Pedro Beato for assignment.

With the Ryan Dempster contract now official, the Red Sox dropped Beato from their 40-man roster. He was the player to be named later in the Kelly Shoppach deal last season and posted a 3.33 ERA in 28 appearances at the Triple-A level.

Red Sox recalled RHP Pedro Beato from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Beato, of course, was the player to be named later in the Kelly Shoppach deal. He’ll provide bullpen depth after the Red Sox used seven releivers in Saturday’s extra-inning loss to the Royals.

Red Sox acquired RHP Pedro Beato from the Mets to complete the Kelly Shoppach trade.

Beato owns a 4.67 ERA and 44/29 K/BB ratio over 71 1/3 innings in the big leagues. The 25-year-old right-hander doesn’t miss many bats and his ground ball rate isn’t all that high, so he’s been a bit of a disappointment. Still, he throws in the low-to-mid 90s and may turn into a useful bullpen piece in the long-term. Not a bad return, all in all.

Mets optioned RHP Pedro Beato to Triple-A Buffalo.

There were whispers that Lucas Duda was going to be demoted to make room for Matt Harvey on the active roster, but Beato will get the boot after giving up four runs in Monday’s loss to the Nationals. The young right-hander figures to return to the majors later this summer.

Mets recalled RHP Pedro Beato from Triple-A Buffalo.

Beato has registered a sparkling 0.96 ERA and 22/3 K/BB ratio over 28 innings this season in the minor leagues. He should do well in middle relief for the Mets.

Mets optioned RHP Pedro Beato to Triple-A Buffalo.

Beato was just activated from the DL Wednesday and didn’t make an appearance for the Mets. We presume manager Terry Collins wanted more length in the bullpen, which is why Jeremy Hefner gets to stay around.

Mets activated RHP Pedro Beato from the 60-day disabled list.

Josh Satin was designated for assignment in a corresponding roster move. Beato, who began the year on the DL with shoulder inflammation, had a 0.69 ERA and 10/5 K/BB ratio in 13 innings between High-A St. Lucie and Triple-A Buffalo during his rehab assignment. He’ll provide a fresh arm to a bullpen that sorely needs one.

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said it’s “realistic” that Pedro Beato (shoulder) could be activated from the disabled Sunday.

Beato, who began the year on the DL with rotator cuff inflammation, has a 1.17 ERA and 8/2 K/BB ratio over 7 2/3 innings between High-A St. Lucie and Triple-A Buffalo during his rehab assignment. He could provide a nice boost to a bullpen which ranks last in the majors with a 5.45 ERA.

Pedro Beato (shoulder) has been moved up to Triple-A Buffalo to continue his rehab assignment.

Beato spun four scoreless innings for High-A St. Lucie. He appears to be over his shoulder woes and might join the Mets bullpen before long.
