Martin Prado went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and run scored in Wednesday’s loss to the Marlins.

Prado has now reeled off four straight multi-hit efforts, and seven in 14 May games. The hot-hitting has improved his triple slash from a solid .271/.351/.435 to superb .314/.384/.450. Perched near the top of one of the league’s better lineups, Prado is poised to be a steady source of runs and average all season.

Martin Prado (flu) is expected to be in the lineup Sunday.

Prado didn’t play at all Friday and didn’t start Saturday due to a bout with the flu, but he’s now ready to rejoin the lineup. “I don?t know where I got that [flu bug] from, man,” said Prado. “As soon as I got to my room I started shaking. Body aches and fever. I don?t know, man. I felt so weak. The next morning [Friday], it was not good.” He’s batting .273/.354/.414 with two homers and two steals this season.

Martin Prado hit a solo home run in Sunday’s win over the Pirates.

Prado’s seventh inning blast off of Brad Lincoln was his only hit of the afternoon, and just his second home run of the season. Prado has now hit in 10 of his past 11 games, however, and will bring a .277/.344/.446 triple slash into Monday’s rubber match against the Pirates. He’s over his slow start.

Martin Prado is not in Tuesday’s lineup.

Matt Diaz is 17-for-34 (.500) with a homer and four doubles lifetime against Tuesday’s starter Johan Santana, so Braves’ manager Fredi Gonzalez is just playing the matchups in left field. Prado will be back in there Wednesday.

Martin Prado went 2-for-3 with a double, walk and stolen base in Sunday’s win over the Brewers.

It was a big day for the struggling top of the Braves lineup, as Michael Bourn also broke out with a 3-for-5 performance, doubling and stealing a base in the process. Prado is not an inspiring mixed-league option, but his position versatility makes him worth owning in a large majority of formats.

Martin Prado has missed the last couple days while nursing some soreness in his legs.

It doesn’t sound like a big deal. Prado should be fine shortly and ready to fill in for Chipper Jones at third base on Opening Day.

Martin Prado went 3-for-4 with two doubles in a losing cause Friday against the Mets.

The Braves will continue to use Prado primarily in left field this season, but he is seeing time at both second base and third this spring. He could get extensive playing time in the infield if either Dan Uggla or, more likely, Chipper Jones gets hurt.

Braves and OF-INF Martin Prado avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract.

David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the deal is worth $4.5-5 million. Prado, who was arbitration-eligible for the second time this winter, earned $3.1 million last season while batting .260/.302/.385 with 13 homers, 57 RBI and a .687 OPS. The 28-year-old has been the subject of numerous trade rumors this offseason, but currently projects to be the starting left fielder for the Braves in 2012.

According to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal, the Blue Jays want Martin Prado but trade talks haven’t gone well.

Rosenthal says the two organizations “do not match up” because Atlanta seeks a powerful left fielder in return and Toronto doesn’t have one. Prado has also drawn interest from the Rockies, Tigers and Twins. He’s likely to be shopped heavily at this week’s Winter Meetings in Dallas, Texas.
