The Rangers and RHP Mark Lowe avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.7 million contract.
The deal also includes performance-based incentives. Lowe registered a 3.80 ERA in 45 innings last year for the Rangers and will serve as a middle reliever in 2012.
