Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said Jason Kubel’s quad injury still isn’t 100 percent.
Kubel suffered the ailment in mid-March, and it’s never totally healed. It’s not going to keep him out of the lineup, though Gerardo Parra could come in for him defensively late in games, as he did Saturday. “It’s never 100 percent went away,” Gibson said of the injury. “He had just hit, we had the lead. It makes all the sense in the world. Parra’s as good as there is. You can put him out there on any team on the corner. If those situations are similar, you can see that happening again.”

Diamondbacks signed OF Jason Kubel to a two-year, $16 million contract with a $7.5 million option for 2014.
