Freddie Freeman will use the upcoming offseason to consider having Lasik eye surgery performed.

The 23-year-old first baseman struggled this season with his contacts, and could never get to the point where he vision was comfortable on a daily basis. His vision problems started in the dry air of Colorado in May and continued to bother him right through until the Wild Card game.

Freddie Freeman swatted a solo home run, accounting for the entirety of the Braves offense in a losing effort against the Mets on Friday.

Freeman finished the night 1-for-4. He swatted his solo homer in the fourth inning off Jonathan Niese, giving the Braves a 1-0 lead at the time. The 23-year-old has avoided a sophomore slump this season, hitting .265/.347/.466 with 23 homers, 90 runs scored and 94 RBI.

Freddie Freeman slugged a walkoff two-run homer, leading the Braves to a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over the Marlins on Tuesday night.

Freeman finished the evening 2-for-4. The Braves entered the ninth inning trailing 3-2, and Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen called on left-hander Mike Dunn to face Chipper Jones. Jones started the inning with a double, and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Freeman merely needed to put the ball in play to plate the winning run, but he had other plans, launching the ball over the center field wall to deliver a critical victory. Freeman is having a solid sophomore season, hitting .267/.347/.465 with 22 homers and 93 RBI.

Freddie Freeman blasted a three-run homer on Saturday, powering the Braves to an 8-2 victory over the Phillies in Philadelphia.

Freeman finished the afternoon 1-for-5. His three-run shot off Roy Halladay in the first inning got the Braves on the scoreboard first, and stood as the difference maker in the game. He’s been struggling at the dish in recent weeks, hitting just .206 (26-for-126) with six homers and 16 RBI over his last 36 games.

Freddie Freeman smashed a two-run homer off Roy Halladay as the Braves fell to the Phillies on Friday night in Atlanta.

Freeman finished the game 2-for-3 and also walked twice. He’s enjoying a nice sophomore season, hitting .270/.347/.472 with 19 homers and 85 RBI. Still just 22-years-old and with still developing power, the future looks extremely bright for this young slugger.

Freddie Freeman is not in Wednesday’s lineup against the Padres.

No word yet on the reason for his absence. Martin Prado will start in his place at base while Reed Johnson plays left field.

Freddie Freeman hit a pair of solo homers versus the Giants on Friday.

The Braves got two homers from Freeman and one from Jason Heyward, only to lose 5-3. Freeman slumped in the middle of August, but he has five extra-base hits, five RBI and trheee walks in his last five games.

Freddie Freeman homered and drove home five runs as the Braves throttled the Mets 9-3 on Saturday.

Freeman finished the evening 2-for-4 with a run scored and five RBI. With two outs in the first inning, he delivered a two-run double off Johan Santana to get the Braves on the board. He then put the game out of reach by blasting a three-run homer off Jeremy Hefner in the second inning. Freeman is enjoying a very productive sophomore season, now batting .281 with 14 homers and 73 RBI.

Freddie Freeman blasted a three-run homer on Sunday, powering the Braves to a 6-1 victory over the visiting Mets.

The three-run shot off Johan Santana in the fifth inning was Freeman’s lone hit in four trips to the plate. He has now hit safely in seven consecutive games, hitting .462 (12-for-26) with two homers and seven RBI over that stretch. At just 22-years-old, he’s quickly becoming one of the best hitting first baseman in the National League.

Freddie Freeman went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI as the Braves topped the Mets in a come-from-behind 8-7 victory on Saturday.

All three of Freeman’s hits came off starter R.A. Dickey, including a two-run double in the fifth inning. The 22-year-old slugger is enjoying a nice sophomore season, hitting .275 with 11 homers and 51 RBI. Once he learns to cut down on the strikeouts and control the plate better, he could be considered among the best all-around hitters in the National League.
