Edwin Jackson yielded one run over eight innings Friday against the Orioles in a tough-luck no-decision.

Jackson struck out eight, walked one and gave up five hits. While he owns a solid 3.31 ERA through eight starts, he hasn’t won since his second start of the season on April 14. He’ll hope to change that when he takes on the Phillies in his next scheduled start Wednesday.

Edwin Jackson tossed five innings of three-run ball as part of a no-decision in Cincinnati Sunday.

Jackson struck out four, walked none and gave up five hits. He was in line for his second win of the season, but Henry Rodriguez blew a save. It continues a theme of bad luck for Jackson this season, as the Nats have given him meager run support all year. He gets the Orioles next time out.

Edwin Jackson turned in a solid effort against the Pirates on Tuesday, allowing just two runs and three hits over seven innings of work.

Jackson fanned five and walked just one in the game. He’s pitched very well from the back end of the Nationals rotation, with a 3.49 ERA and 34/9 K/BB ratio through his first 38 2/3 innings. He can’t do it all himself, though, and will need more run support if he wants to improve on his 1-1 record when he takes on the Reds in Cincinnati on Sunday.

Edwin Jackson struggled a bit against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, surrendering four runs on eight hits over six innings against his former team.

Jackson struck out three and walked two in the game. Though a bit inconsistent in the early part of the season, Jackson has still been one of the strongest number-four starters in the league, and is a big part of the Nationals’ early success. He’ll take his 1-1 record and 3.69 ERA with him into what looks to be an extremely favorable matchup against the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Edwin Jackson tossed 6 2/3 shutout innings Thursday against the Padres, but was handed a no-decision.

Jackson scattered six hits while issuing three walks (one intentional) and striking out six. He was in line for the victory, but Tyler Clippard coughed up the lead in the bottom of the eighth. Still, there’s a lot to like about Jackson in mixed leagues, as he owns a very healthy 3.16 ERA and 26/6 K/BB ratio across 25 2/3 innings this season. He’ll get the Diamondbacks next week.

Edwin Jackson allowed five runs on seven hits in five innings of work against the Astros on Thursday.

He struck out five and didn?t walk a batter in the game. With one out in the first inning, the Astros strung together six consecutive hits to push across all five of their runs. Jackson settled in nicely after that, allowing only one hit the remainder of his night. He?ll look to get back on track when he takes on the Padres in San Diego next week.

Edwin Jackson pitched brilliantly against the Reds on Saturday allowing just one run on two hits in a complete game victory.

Jackson struck out nine and walked just one in the game. He’s always shown glimpses of greatness, but has struggled throughout his career to find consistency. If he can continue to pitch this well, the Nationals have one of the best and deepest rotations in all of baseball. Jackson will look to carry that momentum as he takes on the Astros next time out.

Edwin Jackson yielded three runs over five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Monday.

Jackson allowed four hits (including a game-tying two-run home run to Kirk Nieuwenhuis) while fanning six and walking a pair. He likely would have pitched longer, but Nationals manager Davey Johnson pulled him for a pinch-hitter in the middle of a scoring opportunity in the top of the sixth. The well-traveled right-hander will get the Reds in his next start on Saturday.

Edwin Jackson was tagged for six runs in 4 2/3 innings by the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Jackson finishes another down spring with a 6.51 ERA. He hasn’t had a sub-5.00 ERA during March since 2009. We’re still expecting good things from him this year, though he won’t necessarily be an every week play in mixed leagues.

Edwin Jackson limited the Braves to one run and two hits over six innings to win Thursday.

A Jason Heyward homer accounted for the only damage. Jackson, who usually struggles during spring training, lowered his ERA from 6.88 to 5.48 with the performance.
