Derek Lowe was quality in Sunday’s loss to the Marlins, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk in six innings of work.

Lowe fanned two in falling to 6-2. The quality start was his seventh straight, and leaves him with an elite 2.15 ERA through 58 2/3 innings. Lowe’s 1.41 WHIP and abysmal 15/18 K/BB ratio suggest his ERA has nowhere to go but up, however. He’ll get the White Sox in Chicago next weekend.

Derek Lowe pitched his fourth career shutout — and first since 2005 — in the Indians’ 5-0 win over the Twins on Tuesday.

Lowe did it without striking out a batter. He’s the first pitcher since Scott Erickson on April 28, 2000 to pitch a shutout without recording a strikeout. Lowe is now 6-1 with a 2.05 ERA this season, though his WHIP is still mediocre at 1.44. For all of his success so far, he’s still not a very good bet in mixed leagues.

Derek Lowe continued his resurgence on Thursday, allowing just two runs on nine hits over six innings of work against the Red Sox.

Lowe struck out three and walked just one in the game. He now sits at 5-1 on the season with a 2.47 ERA and has been a large part of the reason that the Indians are currently leading the AL Central Division. While he’s unlikely to keep up this pace, he makes for an interesting pickup opportunity for his start against the Twins in Minnesota on Tuesday.

Derek Lowe allowed just two runs on nine hits over six innings of work Saturday against the Rangers.

Lowe struck out two and walked one. He was on the hook for the loss before the Indians rallied late to tie the game in the eighth inning. The veteran is now 4-1 with a 2.39 ERA this season, and is looking like a solid matchup play in all mixed fantasy leagues at the moment. He’ll square off against the White Sox next week.

Derek Lowe baffled the scuttling Angels on Sunday, allowing just three hits and two walks in 7 2/3 scoreless innings of Cleveland’s 4-0 victory.

Lowe threw 107 pitches in an outing where he nearly lost his clean sheet, as he allowed to runners to reach base after retiring the first two batters he faced in the eighth. Vinnie Pestano issued a walk before ending the threat. The quality start was Lowe’s second start, and third in five outings. His ERA remains a solid 2.27, but his WHIP is 1.42 while his K/BB ratio is an embarrassing 9/10. He won’t be living the good life forever. He’ll get the Rangers at home on Friday.

Derek Lowe pitched well against the Royals on Tuesday, allowing just one run on eight hits over six innings.

Lowe struck out five and walked only one in the game. He now sits at 3-1 as a member of the Indians with a very respectable 3.00 ERA. The veteran right-hander will look to continue his strong start to the season when he takes on the struggling Angels on Sunday.

Derek Lowe got roughed up for four runs on eight hits and six walks in 4 1/3 innings of Wednesday’s loss to the Mariners.

He notched zero strikeouts. It took three outings, but the 2011 Lowe finally surfaced for the Indians. He served up a pair of first inning home runs to Chone Figgins and Ichiro Suzuki. Lowe’s ERA remains a solid 3.50 through his first 18 innings of work, but his WHIP (1.72) and K/BB ratio (3/7) are far more ominous. He’s rapidly shaping up as a no-go for mixed leaguers.

Derek Lowe yielded three runs in 6 2/3 innings Friday in a victory over the Royals.

The Indians got Lowe seven runs in the top of the first, and Lowe made it hold up, even though he allowed 11 hits in his 6 2/3 innings. The important thing was that none were homers and he didn’t walk anyone. Lowe is 2-0 with a 1.98 ERA.

Derek Lowe turned in an excellent Indians debut Sunday, allowing just two unearned runs on five hits and one walk in seven innings of Cleveland’s 4-3 win over the Blue Jays.

Lowe’s spring rib cage injury was not an issue as he needed only 95 pitches to record his 21 outs. He tallied just one strikeout in the process, but punchouts have never been Lowe’s game. He’s worth a season-opening flier in 12-14 team mixed leagues.

Derek Lowe pitched three scoreless innings, striking out three, against high-A Carolina on Tuesday.

Lowe was testing his sore rib cage in preparation for his first regular-season start. He figures to get the ball for the Indians on Sunday.
