David Price struggled against the Yankees on Thursday, allowing five runs on 11 hits over his seven innings of work.

Price fanned four and walked three in the game. The short right field porch at Yankee Stadium was his undoing, as Curtis Granderson and Robinson Cano each took Price deep in the game. With the loss, Price falls to 5-2 on the season and raises his ERA to 2.98. He’ll look to put this poor performance behind him when he squares off against the Blue Jays in Toronto on Tuesday.

David Price turned in a dazzling performance against the Athletics on Friday, allowing just one run on three hits over eight innings of work while striking out a season-high 12.

Price had all of his pitches working for him in the game, and commanded everything well, walking just one on the night. With the victory, he improves to 5-1 on the young season and lowers his ERA to 2.35. He really appears to be coming into his own and should receive some consideration for the AL Cy Young award if he continues to dominate in this fashion. He’ll look to keep the ball rolling when he takes on the Yankees in New York next week.

David Price allowed two runs on six hits and one walk in 6 1/3 innings of Sunday’s win over the Rangers.

He struck out six. It wasn’t a dominant outing, but certainly passable against a lineup like Texas’ and just good enough to get fantasy owners a win. Usually inconsistent in April, there’s no reason to be worried about Price’s long-term 2012 prospects. Indeed, Price sports a 4-1 record and 2.67 ERA. That it appears as though he’ll improve as the season progresses is a scary idea indeed for the American League.

David Price was pulled after allowing three runs in three innings Friday against the Red Sox.

Price didn’t come back out after a long third inning that saw him give up all three runs he allowed. He was at 83 pitches for the day, so maybe the Rays could have gotten one more inning out of him. Still, manager Joe Maddon saw no reason to try it on a day in which Price pretty clearly wasn’t at his best.
