Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Monday that Corey Hart’s move to first base is not permanent.

Roenicke said he has Hart at first base Monday because the Giants have left-hander Madison Bumgarner on the mound. He intends to start him at first base again on Wednesday when the Brewers face southpaw Barry Zito. Roenicke previously stated that he didn’t want to move Hart back and forth from different positions, but that’s exactly what he plans to do, at least in the short-term.

Corey Hart is playing first base on Monday.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke told reporters recently that he doesn’t want to move Hart back and forth between different positions for fear that it might mess with his focus. So there’s a chance Hart plays first base for the rest of the 2012 season.

Corey Hart went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in Sunday’s 16-4 rout of the Twins.

Hart got the fun started with a leadoff home run off of Jason Marquis in the first inning. He singled home another run in the second. Hart’s ninth home run of the season was just his third in 18 May contests, though the multi-hit effort was his third straight. He’s batting .268/.329/.550 through Milwaukee’s first 41 games.

Cory Hart played the role of hero twice on Friday, as the Brewers downed the Cubs 8-7 in 13 innings.

Hart crushed a two-run homer off of Rafael Dolis in the bottom of the ninth inning to force extra innings. He then delivered a game winning single in the 13th inning off of Lendy Castillo. He finished the night 4-for-7 with a pair of runs scored and three RBI. He’s off to a solid start on the year, hitting .252 with seven homers and 16 RBI.

Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports that Corey Hart “spent a significant amount of time” during batting practice prior to Wednesday’s game taking ground balls at first base.

“I might sneak in there a little bit, get a couple of starts here and there to see how it goes,” said Hart. “I think it really depends on how comfortable I can be over there.” Travis Ishikawa will get most of the starts at first base following Mat Gamel’s season-ending knee injury, and Brooks Conrad will be called up and see time there, as well, in addition to Hart. Hart has made just one career start at first in the majors, but he came up in the minors as a first and third baseman.

Corey Hart went 2-for-4 with his fifth home run of the season in the Brewers’ 9-6 victory over the Astros on Tuesday.

Hart’s two-run shot off of Bud Norris in the sixth inning would put the Brew Crew ahead for good. He also picked up his first stolen base of the season. Hart has been one of the better hitters in the National League in the early part of 2012, hitting .286 with five homers and 12 RBI.

Corey Hart went 2-for-5 including his fourth home run of the season, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Marlins on Friday.

Hart is now hitting .364 (8-for-22) and has seven RBI on the season. Hart and the Brewers offense provided plenty of support tonight, but they’re going to need a better effort from their starting rotation if they want to make a serious run at the N.L. Central crown.

Corey Hart will get the day off Wednesday against the Cubs.

Hart is hitting .429 (6-for-14) with three homers and four RBI so far this season, so he hasn’t missed a beat after knee surgery, but Brewers manager Ron Roenicke is using Wednesday’s day game as an opportunity to rest him. Nyjer Morgan will make the start in left while Carlos Gomez plays center.

Corey Hart led the offensive attack for the Brewers in their 6-0 win over the Giants on Saturday, going 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI.

Hart got the party started taking Adam Wainwright deep in the second inning, and followed it up with a two-run shot off of Victor Marte in the sixth. Hart returned from his injury much quicker than anticipated and was replaced defensively by Carlos Gomez as a precautionary matter. Hart is off to a great start and should be able to deliver 25-30 homers in 2012.

Corey Hart doubled and walked twice in Friday’s season opener against the Cardinals.

Hart showed no issues with his surgically-repaired knee, even sliding into second base on the double. The Brewers may give him a day off here or there in the early going, but fantasy owners should have no hesitation putting him into the lineup.
