During an appearance Monday on 1070-AM in Madison, Brewers general manager Doug Melvin said that Corey Hart could see some playing time at first base this season.
Melvin said in October that Hart was not a consideration at first base, but he has apparently had a change of heart over the past couple of months. While Mat Gamel figures to get the majority of the playing time at first base this season, he has traditionally struggled against left-handed pitching. Of course, the big problem with moving Hart to first base against southpaws is that the Brewers don’t have a great alternative in right field. Still, the first base eligibility would be helpful for fantasy owners. Be sure to track this situation during spring training.
