C.J. Wilson looked ready for the regular season Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk in 6 1/3 innings of Los Angeles’ 9-2 win over Arizona.

Wilson fanned seven in what was likely his final Cactus League start. He’ll finish the spring with a 1.33 ERA and 16/3 K/BB ratio compiled over 20 1/3 innings. The Halos and Rangers are going to brawl for the American League West title this summer.

C.J. Wilson was fantastic against the Royals Tuesday, spinning five shutout innings on three hits while striking out five.

The new Halos left-hander has been phenomenal this spring, giving up just one run over 14 innings. He got his pitch count up to 75 Tuesday and looks to be ready to get the season underway. Wilson should be in line for a strong year with a move from Texas to Anaheim.

C.J. Wilson pitched well Thursday, limiting the Reds to one run on three hits while striking out two over four innings of work.

Wilson has been on his game from the get-go this spring, having allowed just the one run over nine innings while giving up just five hits. He should thrive this season in Anaheim after moving away from Rangers Ballpark.

C.J. Wilson allowed one hit and one walk in two innings of work in Monday’s win over the A’s.

Wilson faced eight batters in his Halos debut, inducing three groundballs and two flyouts. He posted a 5.06 ERA in 16 innings for the Rangers last spring before going on to register a 2.94 mark across 223 1/3 regular-season frames.

Angels signed LHP C.J. Wilson to a five-year, $77.5 million contract.

Not only did the Angels sign the best hitter available in Albert Pujols, they also secured the top starting pitcher on the free agent market. Wilson turned down a more lucrative six-year contract from the Marlins for the opportunity to pitch in his native Southern California. The 31-year-old left-hander has a 3.14 ERA since making the move to the starting rotation at the start of 2010, which is pretty impressive considering that he called the Ballpark at Arlington home. There’s a good chance he’ll be even more effective pitching half his games in Angel Stadium.

ESPN’s Karl Ravech reports that C.J. Wilson’s contract with the Angels is worth $77.5 million over five years.

That doesn’t change the fact that this contract still looks like a reasonable value for the Angels. The Rangers will receive the Angels’ second-round draft pick and a supplemental choice as compensation for losing the left-hander.

MLB Network’s Jon Heyman reports that C.J. Wilson signed a five-year, $75 million contract with the Angels.

Wilson reportedly had a six-year offer on the table from the Marlins, but he has decided to come home to Southern California on what looks like a very reasonable contract given some of the figures that were originally tossed around. The 31-year-old left-hander has a 3.14 ERA since moving into the starting rotation at the start of the 2010 season and should fit nicely in the Angels’ rotation. He should also enjoy the switch to the more pitcher-friendly confines of the team’s home stadium.

According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Angels have signed left-hander C.J. Wilson.

And we all thought the Marlins were the ones on the spending spree. No word on the exact terms, but Wilson was reportedly mulling a five-year deal worth more than $70 million. He’ll join a talented pitching staff which also includes Jared Weaver, Dan Haren and Ervin Santana. The 31-year-old left-hander went 16-7 with a 2.94 ERA over 34 starts this season.

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that C.J. Wilson is expected to accept the Angels’ five-year contract offer.

It’s a reversal of course, as Wilson had reportedly been leaning towards accepting an offer from the Marlins, whose proposal was for six years. But, Wilson is from California and would love to pitch in his home state. We can’t assume this one is over by any stretch, but it appears as though the left-hander might remain in the AL West.

TR Sullivan of MLB.com reports that C.J. Wilson “could be ready” to accept the Marlins’ six-year offer.

Sullivan says the long-term commitment appeals to Wilson and he is also intrigued by the chance to hit. The Marlins are viewed as the favorites at this point, but Wilson isn’t done meeting with both teams face-to-face yet, so an official decision has not yet been made. Stay tuned.
