Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Aubrey Huff will get a start — likely at first base — sometime during the team’s upcoming road trip.

Huff has only pinch-hit since being activated from the DL on May 7 following a bout with an anxiety disorder. He seems likely to remain more of a role player at this point and shouldn’t be owned in fantasy leagues.

Aubrey Huff is not expected to start Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Huff has been limited to one pinch-hit appearance since being activated from the disabled list Monday. Giants manager Bruce Bochy would prefer to see more of him off the bench before working him back into the lineup. Look for Gregor Blanco, Melky Cabrera and Nate Schierholtz to start in the outfield Wednesday against Chad Billingsley.

Giants activated 1B-OF Aubrey Huff from the 15-day disabled list.

The 35-year-old has been out since April 21 while dealing with an anxiety disorder, but he’s feeling better, saying, “let’s go out and have fun again.” The owner of a .182/.300/.333 batting line, Huff will be a semi-regular, splitting time between first base and the outfield.

Aubrey Huff (anxiety) is listed as a reserve for Monday’s game against the Dodgers.

This suggests that Huff will be activated from the disabled list, though the Giants have yet to make an official roster move. The 35-year-old has been out since April 21 while dealing with an anxiety disorder.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said he expects Aubrey Huff (anxiety) to return from the disabled list when first eligible.

Good news. Huff has already rejoined the team after dealing with an anxiety disorder, but he won’t be eligible for activation until May 6. He’s batting just .182/.300/.333 with one homer so far this season.

Aubrey Huff (anxiety) is expected to rejoin the Giants on Friday or Saturday in San Francisco.

Huff was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday so he can’t be immediately activated. But it’s good news nonetheless that he’s feeling well enough to return to the Giants’ clubhouse. The 35-year-old is battling an anxiety disorder and is currently undergoing treatment. It’s not clear when he might be ready to resume playing in major league games.

Giants placed 1B Aubrey Huff on the 15-day disabled list with an anxiety disorder.

Huff left the team on Monday and flew back to Florida for what was being described as a family emergency. But it turns out that he’s battling more of an internal, personal issue. The 35-year-old had one of the worst games of his career on Saturday, going 0-for-4 in a loss to the Mets and failing to cover second base on a crucial late-innings defensive play. It’s fair to wonder whether these anxiety issues are related.

Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle writes that the Giants will make a roster move involving Aubrey Huff prior to Wednesday’s game.

Huff left the team Monday to attend to a family emergency in Florida. The Giants already plan to call up Joaquin Arias from Triple-A Fresno, but the exact nature of the roster move isn’t yet known. It’s possible he could be placed on the bereavement list or the seven-day personal leave list. We should know more in the next couple of hours.

Aubrey Huff did not report back to the Giants on Tuesday and could be placed on the bereavement list.

“He’s still taking care of a personal matter,” Giants manager Bruce Bochy told reporters on Tuesday evening. Huff missed Monday’s doubleheader after flying home to Florida and is now out indefinitely. Brandon Belt is starting at first base Tuesday vs. the Reds.
