Alcides Escobar went 1-for-3 with his ninth double of the season as the Royals fell to the Yankees on Friday.
Escobar also managed to swipe his sixth base in the losing effort. He’s now hitting .275 on the season, and appears to be maturing as a hitter. The nine early season doubles hint at the fact that his power may be developing, and his speed already makes him an asset in deeper mixed leagues.

Alcides Escobar went 4-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the Royals’ loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday.
The four-hit effort raised his average to an impressive .302. If Alcides can maintain that kind of mark or something close to it, his plus speed and high potential run totals will make him an asset at the middle infielder spot in deeper mixed and AL-only fantasy leagues.

Alcides Escobar hit a two-run homer Wednesday night in the Royals’ 4-3 loss to the Tigers.
The big fly was only the 10th of Escobar’s career. He’s batting .244/.292/.400 with one home run, two steals and four RBI in 12 games this year for Kansas City.
