Adrian Beltre (hamstring) is at third base in Sunday’s lineup.

Rangers manager Ron Washington indicated on Friday that he thinks Beltre is close to being able to play third base full-time again. Beltre has been limited mostly to DH duty lately while nursing a tender hamstring. He played third base in Game 1 of Thursday’s doubleheader for the first time since April 29, but he’s been back at DH since. Washington has shied away from putting Beltre at the hot corner recently because of wet conditions. Sunday’s dry heat in Texas assured that condensation wouldn’t be an issue.

Rangers manager Ron Washington indicated that Adrian Beltre (hamstring) is close to being able to play third base full-time again.

Beltre has been limited mostly to DH duty lately while nursing a tender hamstring. He played third base in Game 1 of Thursday’s doubleheader for the first time since April 29, but he was back at DH for the second game. “He was real good. He was Beltre,” Washington said of how Beltre looked at third. “We’ll just move forward each day.” Beltre has showed that his hammy doesn’t hinder him at all at the plate, so as long as he’s in the lineup somewhere, fantasy owners don’t really care. But, it will be comforting when the injury issues are finally behind him.
