Adam Dunn hit his 13th home run of the season in Saturday’s interleague victory over the Cubs.

Dunn’s solo blast into the right field bleachers put the White Sox up 5-0 in the top of the eighth inning, and they would finish the frame up 7-0. The 32-year-old Dunn is enjoying a heck of a bounceback season, batting .246/.390/.585 with 13 home runs and 31 RBI in 41 games played.

White Sox manager Robin Ventura said that Adam Dunn will play left field in all three games against the Cubs this weekend.

Dunn is an obviously liability on defense, but the White Sox can’t afford to keep his potent bat out of the lineup. The resurgent slugger has 12 homers, 28 RBI and a 1.003 OPS through his first 36 games this year. It would be pretty nice if he gets his outfield eligibility back.

Adam Dunn connected on his eleventh home run of the season, helping the lead the White Sox to a 5-0 victory over the Royals on Friday.

Dunn finished the game 2-for-2 and also walked twice, raising his average to .257 on the season. The solo homer off of Felipe Paulino in the first inning gives him 11 on the season, and he’s now driven in 26 runs. This is exactly the type of production the White Sox envisioned when they inked Dunn to his massive free agent contract last offseason.

Adam Dunn hit his 10th home run in Wednesday’s 8-1 win over the Indians.

He also struck out, drew a walk and scored a pair of runs. Incredibly, Dunn has now struck out at least once in all 32 of Chicago’s games, but he’s hitting .243/.384/.586 to go along with all the whiffs. We think the White Sox will take it coming off Dunn’s historically bad 2011.

Adam Dunn homered for the fourth time in five games in Sunday’s loss to the Tigers.

Dunn plated the White Sox only run with a first-inning solo shot off of Rick Porcello. True to form, he finished his day 1-for-4 with two strikeouts. With nine home runs through his first 28 games, however, Dunn is now just two off of his paltry 2011 total, and clearly back to being at least some form of the player the White Sox gave $56 million to. He likely has one or two more epic slumps in the offing, but Dunn is again a mixed-league force.

Adam Dunn connected on a two-run homer against Jose Valverde in the ninth inning on Saturday, powering the White Sox to a 3-2 victory over the Tigers.

Dunn finished the day 2-for-4 with those two RBI. He’s now hitting .250 on the season with eight homers and 22 RBI, providing exactly the type of power and run production the White Sox envisioned when inking him to a four-year, $56 million contract last year.

Adam Dunn homered for the second consecutive day, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Indians on Thursday.

Dunn finished the night 2-for-5 with two RBI. His two-run blast off of Dan Wheeler in the ninth inning pulled the White Sox to within 7-5. He’s now up to seven homers and 19 RBI on the season, and looks well on his way to putting his anemic 2011 season in the rear-view mirror.

Adam Dunn connected on his sixth home run of the season, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Indians on Wednesday.

Dunn finished the night 2-for-3 with the solo shot off of Josh Tomlin. The multi-hit effort raises his average to .238, which is much more in line with his career average than his debacle from a season ago. He’s also provided the thump that the White Sox expected when he inked his big free agent contract, with six homers and 17 RBI on the season.

Adam Dunn hit a two-run homer in Sunday’s win over the Red Sox.

Dunn finished his day 1-for-2 with a strikeout and pair of walks. His fifth home run of the season was his first in six games. In between, he went 2-for-16 with seven strikeouts. Dunn is clearly no longer the worst hitter in the league, but it’s also apparent he’s no longer the hitter he once was.

Adam Dunn went 1-for-6 in Wednesday’s 5-4 loss to the Athletics, lowering his batting average to .239.

More notably, the veteran slugger fanned twice, giving him 29 in 67 at-bats. He has struck out at least once in 22 straight games dating back to last season. The record among non-pitchers is 28 games, achieved by Jarrod Saltalamacchia in 2009.
