Phillies signed RHP Mike Adams to a two-year, $12 million contract with a vesting option for 2015.
Adams agreed to the deal last weekend then had it finalized on Thursday after passing his physical. The 34-year-old right-hander boasts an exceptional 2.28 career ERA, 1.06 career WHIP and 9.0 career K/9. He should do well in a setup role behind Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon.
