Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post was told by a Marlins source that the team “didn’t seem enthusiastic” about signing Carl Pavano.
The Marlins talked with Pavano’s agent on Tuesday, but it’s possible they were turned off by his asking price or his shoulder issues from this past season. Still, the Marlins could use a veteran starter after gutting their rotation over the past few months. Pavano, who turns 37 in January, previously pitched with the Marlins from 2002-2004.
