Brewers general manager Doug Melvin said he’s had discussions with the Mets regarding R.A. Dickey, but it “doesn?t appear to be a match.”
“I just talked to them briefly, but there is nothing to that,” said Melvin. “We never got into [exchanging names].” The Brew Crew are just one of a host of clubs that have at least kicked the tires on the knuckleballer. Dickey seems likely to be traded at some point, even though the Mets’ asking price appears to be sky high at the moment.
