David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution writes that Angel Pagan “probably tops” the Braves’ list of free agent center fielders.
The Braves don’t seem encouraged by their chances of retaining Bourn, but Pagan wouldn’t be a bad backup option. The 31-year-old batted .288/.338/.440 with eight homers and 29 steals for the Giants this season while offering good defense in center field. O’Brien thinks Atlanta could also consider a trade for a center fielder, with Denard Span “likely high on the list of potential targets.” The Twins are looking for pitching, something the Braves have an excess of.
