The Nationals made a one-year, $13.3 million qualifying offer to impending free agent Adam LaRoche.
LaRoche has seven days to accept or decline. The Nationals will receive a draft pick if he declines and signs with another team, but the two sides continue to discuss a new contract. The 32-year-old is aiming for a multi-year deal after tallying 33 home runs and 100 RBI this season to go along with a Gold Glove Award.
