Pablo Sandoval blasted a solo homer off Mitchell Boggs, helping to power the Giants to a critical 5-0 victory over the Cardinals in Game 5 of the NLCS on Friday night in St. Louis.
Sandoval finished the evening 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI. He singled and came around to score during the four-run uprising in the fourth inning, and smashed his solo shot in the eighth to put the Giants ahead 5-0. Sandoval has been extremely strong this postseason, hitting .310 (13-for-42) with three homers and seven RBI.
