Dr. James Andrews told Jaime Garcia that he will not require shoulder surgery.
Three other doctors recommended surgery, but Andrews advised him to begin a rehab program. Garcia will be re-evaluated in two or three weeks by Cardinals head physician Dr. George Paletta, so there’s still a chance he could go under the knife eventually, but this qualifies as good news for now.
