Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said CC Sabathia would not start a potential ALCS Game 7 on two days’ rest.
The Yanks had been planning on going with him on three days’ rest before Wednesday’s rainout. It might seem obvious, but Sabathia did once make three straight starts on three days’ rest when he was with the Brewers, averaging over 100 pitches per outing. Of course, the Brewers didn’t have him under contract for the next five years and have to worry about his long-term health. The Yanks would likely go with Phil Hughes in Game 7 if he’s over his back injury. Ivan Nova could also potentially be added to the roster.
