Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that Carlos Beltran’s left knee strain is not considered serious and he could be back in the lineup Thursday.
Beltran was injured while trying to beat out a double-play ball in the first inning of Wednesday’s contest. The veteran outfielder has obviously had plenty of knee issues in the past, but evidently this is a minor one. Matt Carpenter hit a two-run homer after taking over for Beltran Wednesday and would start Thursday if it turns out that Beltran can’t go.
