Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said the team is “seriously going to have to look at” acquiring starting pitching help this offseason.
The Dodgers would seemingly be set in the rotation if Chad Billingsley (elbow) and Ted Lilly (shoulder) can come back healthy, but it doesn’t sound like they’re willing to gamble on that happening. “I would say a starting pitcher is what we?re seriously going to have to look at,” Colletti said. “We don?t know what we?re going to get from either players who are either recuperating right now or looking at surgery. We can?t wait until we find out something that you can?t adjust to.” Steve Dilbeck of the Los Angeles Times suggests that the Dodgers could pursue Zack Greinke in free agency or possibly target Cliff Lee or Jon Lester via trade.
