Red Sox acquired 1B/OF Jerry Sands from the Dodgers to complete the Adrian Gonzalez trade.
The Red Sox also got right-handers Allen Webster and Rubby De La Rosa and infielder Ivan De Jesus in the mega-deal. Sands has posted some big numbers in the minors, but owns a .244/.325/.376 batting line through 251 plate appearances in the majors. However, there’s a chance he could turn into a useful right-handed bat off the bench at the very least.
