Brandon Belt homered, doubled, walked and scored three times as the Giants beat the Padres 8-4 on Saturday.
Belt’s homer came off lefty reliever Joe Thatcher. Oddly enough, five of his seven homers have come against lefties this year, though he’s still hitting worst against them overall. Of course, last year he had a big reverse platoon split, hitting .348 in 46 at-bats against lefties and .184 in 141 at-bats against righties. This year, he’s at .235 in 115 at-bats against lefties and .286 in 269 at-bats against righties.
