Mike Napoli (quad) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco Tuesday.

He’s set to appear in three games for the RoughRiders. Napoli was cleared after running in the outfield while attached to a bungee cord and going through catching drills Saturday. “It felt good. I didn’t feel anything,” Napoli said. “I’m feeling good, so I’m just going to keep on doing it every day.” The 30-year-old has been out since mid-August with a left quad strain. Also of note is that Rangers general manager Jon Daniels met with Napoli’s agent, Brian Grieper, Saturday in an effort to keep lines of communication open regarding an extension for the pending free agent.
