Trevor Cahill held the Giants to two runs on two hits and two walks in 6 1/3 innings of Wednesday’s 6-2 win.
Cahill had a perfect game through 5 1/3 innings, and a no-hitter through six. He came unraveled in the seventh, however, allowing three of four batters to reach base before he was pulled with the bases loaded. It was an unideal end to an otherwise excellent night, but still good for Cahill’s first quality start in four outings. The 24-year-old righty has completed seven innings of work just once in 11 starts since the All-Star break. He’ll bring a 3.98 ERA into his Wednesday outing against the Dodgers at home.
