Ervin Santana was mediocre in Sunday’s loss to the Tigers, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks in seven innings of work.
Santana struck out five and served up a pair of home runs in falling to 11-7. He allowed back-to-back bombs to Prince Fielder and Delmon Young in the sixth. Typically a workhorse, today was just Santana’s second seven-inning outing since the All-Star break. He’ll get the Mariners in Seattle next Saturday, where he’ll be sporting a rough 5.45 ERA at first pitch.
