Franklin Morales was again hit hard in a no-decision against the Angels on Thursday, allowing six runs (two earned) on six hits in just 2 2/3 innings.
Morales fanned three while walking two in the abbreviated outing. After being staked to a 7-0 lead after two innings, the Angels struck back for eight runs in the top of the third, retaking the lead and chasing Morales from the game. A critical error by Pedro Ciriaco extended the inning and led to several of the runs being unearned. The young left-hander has now struggled badly in each of his last two outings, and could be in serious danger of losing his spot in the rotation once Daisuke Matsuzaka returns. He?ll look to get back on track when he battles these same Angels at home on Tuesday.
