Brian McCann (Braves)

Brian McCann said he might have surgery over the offseason to fix a right shoulder issue that’s plagued him throughout the 2012 season.

“I?ve got a cyst that’s sitting on a joint, and I?ve got a frayed labrum,” McCann said. “So I mean, yeah, I?ve got things going on in there. But it’s something that I?m managing, I?m going to play through, and at the end of the year see what I?m going to do [to fix it, if necessary].” McCann wasn’t happy about sitting out a second straight game Saturday, but he seems likely to continue to require regular rest down the stretch. The 28-year-old is batting a career-low .229 with 18 homers and 57 RBI in 94 games this season.
