Johnny Cueto (Reds)

Johnny Cueto became the National League’s first 16-game winner on Saturday by limiting the Cubs to two runs over eight innings as part of a 5-3 victory.

Cueto gave up a two-run homer to Alfonso Soriano in the top of the first inning, but held the Cubs scoreless the rest of the way. All told, he allowed just three hits while walking none, striking out eight and hitting a batter. He’s currently second in the National League behind Jordan Zimmermann with a 2.38 ERA and is improving his case for the Cy Young award by the minute.
