Brandon Belt went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Tuesday’s 6-1 win against Washington.
The 24-year-old masher is on a roll. In nine August games in which he’s logged more than three at-bats, Belt has five multi-hit games. Want evidence that he’s put a .186/.266/.214 July behind him? Belt entered this evening hitting a ludicrous .438 with a 1.125 OPS in August before he put on another show. Yeah, you can nitpick a bit. He only has four RBI and hasn’t hit a home run since the calender turned. But Brian Sabean and Bruce Bochy appear to be Belt’s biggest critics. As a fantasy owner, you don’t want to join their chants of condemnation so long as Belt is in the lineup.
