Max Scherzer (Tigers)

8/10/12 10:51 pm

Max Scherzer pitched well in Friday’s victory over the Rangers, allowing two runs on eight hits over six innings while walking two and striking out eight.

Josh Hamilton got the Rangers on the board with a solo shot in the first inning, then Elvis Andrus added an RBI single in the third inning. Scherzer battled back though, keeping the Rangers offense at bay and allowing his team the chance to come back. He’s now 11-6 with a 4.65 ERA and 168/48 K/BB ratio over 133 2/3 innings on the season. He’ll look to carry over the momentum from this strong outing when he battles the Twins in Minnesota on Wednesday.
