Cole De Vries was obliterated in Friday’s loss to the Rays, allowing seven runs on seven hits in just 1 1/3 innings of work.
De Vries struck out one and didn’t issue a walk in the abbreviated outing. Matt Joyce blasted a two-run homer in the first inning, then the Rays broke the game open by adding six additional runs in the second. With the poor outing, De Vries falls to 2-3 on the season and saw his ERA rise to an unimpressive 4.77. He’ll try to put this one behind him and get back on track when he takes on the Tigers at home on Wednesday.
