David Murphy (Rangers)

Rangers manager Ron Washington plans to use David Murphy as his regular left fielder for now.

Murphy has started consecutive games with a left-hander on the mound and Washington plans to stick with him as long as he stays hot. “Murphy is going to get the bulk of [playing time] until he proves me wrong,” said Washington. “I?m going on what he is doing right now. When I went to him and told him I planned to play him against lefties, he was hitting and we were struggling. I wanted to get as much offense as possible in the lineup. I?m going to put our best guys out there and not worry about matchup stuff.” Murphy has nine homers and eight stolen bases in 272 plate appearances this year, so he’s well worth using in deeper mixed fantasy leagues at the moment.
