Phil Hughes was knocked around in Tuesday’s loss to the Tigers, allowing four runs on eight hits in just 4 1/3 innings.
Hughes punched out three without walking a batter in the brief outing. After being staked to a 2-0 lead in the early going, Miguel Cabrera decided to take the game over and punish Hughes. He smashed a solo homer in the second to get the Tigers on the board, then added a two-run double in the fourth to put them up 4-2 and chase Hughes from the game. He?ll look to put this one behind him and get back on track when he takes on the Blue Jays in Toronto on Sunday.
