Matt Wieters launched a pair of solo home runs, helping to lead the Orioles to a wild 8-7 victory over the Mariners in 14 innings on Tuesday.
Wieters finished the night 3-for-6. Both of his solo shots, in the second and sixth innings, came courtesy of starter Blake Beavan. He’s still hitting just .244 on the season, but he now has blasted 15 homers and driven home 52 runs. The switch-hitting 26-year-old backstop is still one of the strongest options at the position.
