Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine indicated Friday that it’s unlikely Josh Beckett (back) will need to be placed on the disabled list.
Beckett will not make his next start on Sunday, but Valentine said that he’s feeling much better. Still, it’s hard to predict when he’ll return until he resumes throwing. Franklin Morales is starting in his place Sunday against the Twins.
