Emilio Bonifacio (Marlins)

Emilio Bonifacio was diagnosed with a sprained left thumb.

Bonifacio aggravated his surgically-repaired thumb Friday while attempting to make a diving play at second base. Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen said his gut feeling is that the speedy second baseman will miss the rest of the season, though we’d prefer to hear what an actual doctor has to say first. Either way, it doesn’t sound good.
