Andrelton Simmons (hand) is scheduled to have the cast removed from his right hand on Friday.
Simmons has been sidelined since July 9 with a broken right pinkie finger. He’s likely at least two weeks away from returning. Paul Janish will continue to fill in at shortstop for now.
