Adam LaRoche showed no ill-effects from his recent back tightness, bashing a solo homer in a 3-0 victory over the Phillies on Thursday.
LaRoche launched a towering drive to right-field off Cole Hamels in his first at-bat in the second inning. He added an RBI single in the third, finishing the night 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. His terrific run production in the middle of the Nats lineup is a big reason for their success this season, as he’s now hitting .270 with 20 homers and 64 RBI.
