According to ESPN’s Buster Olney, the Red Sox are now “unlikely” to trade Josh Beckett.
Olney says the Red Sox talked to a “small handful of teams about him” but found no offers to their liking. Beckett is owed a total of $31.5 million in salary over the next two seasons and has posted a rough 4.57 ERA in 17 starts this year. It’s doubtful Boston got any great offers.
