A.J. Burnett (Pirates)

7/21/12 9:13 pm

A.J. Burnett had a tremendous outing in Saturday night’s vicory over the Pirates, allowing just one run on eight hits over 7 2/3 innings.

He fanned three while walking only one, and the only real blemish against him was a solo home run by Justin Ruggiano in the second inning. Burnett had struggled in three straight outings, but is now seemingly back on track. The Yankees castoff has an 11-3 record, a 3.59 ERA and an 89/34 K/BB ratio over 107 2/3 innings this season. He should keep rolling next week against the Astros.
