Casper Wells had a nice night at the plate on Wednesday, going 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBI in a losing effort against the Royals.
Wells also managed to score three runs in the game. His two-run homer off Bruce Chen in the fourth inning briefly tied the score at 3-3. He’s seen an uptick in playing time recently with the injury to Franklin Gutierrez, and seems to be taking full advantage. He’s now hitting .279 with six homers and 24 RBI in just 140 at-bats on the season. If he continues to play everyday and hit third in the M’s lineup, he becomes a very intriguing option in deeper mixed leagues.
