Zack Greinke (Brewers)

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Monday that he hopes skipping Zack Greinke on Wednesday will allow him to get back on track.

“He didn’t feel the same; he just didn’t feel right. We kind of got him out of his routine,” said Roenicke, who took responsibility for using Greinke in three straight starts. “The All-Star break didn’t help because he also didn’t have a bullpen in between that start (Friday). So, to try to get him back on track for the second half, and we know it’s important for him to pitch well for us, we bumped him a start.” Roenicke said Greinke won’t pitch again until July 24 against the Phillies, which means he’ll go 10 days between starts.
