FOX Sports’ Jon Paul Morosi says that Zack Greinke’s velocity was “down” in his most recent outing.
Greinke wound up allowing six runs — five earned — in five innings against the Pirates. The velocity issue is playing a factor in the Brewers’ decision to skip the right-hander’s next turn in the starting rotation, and Morosi calls it a “concern among interested clubs.” Greinke has a 3.57 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 117/28 K/BB ratio in 116 total innings this season. His next appearance will be watched closely.
