Ian Desmond (oblique) could return to the Nationals’ lineup as soon as Tuesday.
Desmond is not playing Monday for the second straight day, but he’s improved after taking anti-inflammatory medication and receiving treatment from a massage therapist. “In the last couple days, it was pretty sore,” Desmond said. “We are inside. It’s not 100 outside anymore. Things like are a factor, I think. It feels better today. We’ll see how it feels tomorrow.”
