Matt Garza baffled the Diamondbacks hitters on Sunday, scattering five hits and a walk over seven shutout innings while striking out seven.
Garza, who’s one of the most highly discussed names on the trade market, improved his record to 5-7 and lowered his ERA to 4.02. With numerous teams linked to him in recent weeks, it would be surprising to see him remain in a Cubs uniform come August. He’ll make his next audition for potential new employers when he takes on the Cardinals in St. Louis on Saturday.
